Announcing the 2009 "Best Of" The Writers in Paradise Workshops
We, the co-directors of the 2009 Writers in Paradise Writers' Conference, are pleased to present the best of our conference in a journal entitled, Sabal. From each workshop, instructors have picked a first choice, to be published in Sabal, Volume 4, and an honorable mention, to receive notation in the magazine. Each student selected for this honor will receive a certificate of merit, two copies of the issue in which his or her work appears, and a subscription to next year's Sabal. These works reflect a variety of voices, experience, and styles, but all have excellence in common. We thank all of our students for their hard work, talent, commitment, and the generosity of spirit that led them to us and made them our colleagues for a wonderful week. We hope they are as proud of themselves as we are of them.
Sincerely,
Dennis Lehane and Sterling Watson
